Join colleagues and conference sponsors for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers at Posana Café before heading out to dinner. One of downtown Asheville’s newest and most inviting gathering spots, this chic, eco-renovated bar and café is centrally located downtown on historic Pack Square (formerly Café on the Square). Posana is easy to get to from Grove Park Inn and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and night spots. Parking is available nearby in two parking decks.
Directions from Grove Park Inn
1. Right onto Macon Avenue
2. Left onto Charlotte Street
3. Continue over the I-240 overpass to College Street, which is at the traffic light where you’ll see TK Tripps directly in front of you. Turn right onto College Street.
4. Continue on College Street past the iconic City and County buildings and Asheville’s newest downtown park (on your left) until you get to Broadway. You will see the 17-story BB&T building straight ahead.
5. Turn left onto Broadway. Within a block, Broadway becomes Biltmore Avenue. Posana Café is on the right, across the street from the Vance Monument (looks like the Washington Monument) and Pack Place.
Parking in Downtown Asheville
Metered parking on the street is $1/hour until 6 p.m. and free after that. However, vacant spaces can be difficult to find. BEST BETS are the parking decks, with rates that usually start at $5 for the evening, depending on whether there are special events going on.
• Pack Place Parking Deck: Continue past Posana Café. The deck is just ahead on the left.
• BB&T Parking Deck: When you get to Broadway (Step #4 above), the deck is immediately to your right. Turn right onto Broadway and immediately right into the deck. Posana Café is about a block away.
